Is This My True Alexandaria Call?

Hi, I’m a Malaysian, right now living in Egypt, in New Damietta City, studying here. I have been in Egypt for almost two years. We (Malaysians) have our own community here, I mean in New Damietta City. All of us are 91 persons.

Actually, I always had a dream to be in Alexandaria. I’ve tried three times to go there. Firstly is when I finished my first semester exam, I thought that I’m going to spend my first semester holiday there, but suddenly, I’ve been chosen to be one of leaders for a trip to Sinai, and whether I like it or not, I really have to join them, because it for our community’s sake. So, for the first time I cancelled my trip to Alexandaria.

Secondly, is when I heard that one of my college clubs (Arabs) want to make a trip to go there. I really interested in it so I decided to join them, besides It doesn’t cost a lots, LE 30 for a day trip. But because of some problems, one of the club member told me that the trip can’t be held. So, for the second time I cancelled the trip.

Thirdly, is when I heard that Dr. Ahmed Zuwail is going to be there in Alexandaria University. I feel so proud to hear that, because it is not only that I can have some fun there but at the same time I can meet some gorgeous persons. But, as usual, some problem happened and Dr. Ahmed Zuwail got to get back to America as soon as possible and for my third time, I cancelled the plan. Poor me, isn’t? I feel very sad after all of this, but it ok, because I think maybe Allah got another plan for me.

And now, for the fourth time, I just had another call, and it seems to be a real call. But how knows? After all of this, I think that I cannot put all my expectation on it.

My housemate’s parent is going to come here, to Egypt this 31st of june. They are living in Qatar and will come straightly from there and are going to spend this summer in Alexandaria, for 10 days. And they all right now are trying to get the flight tickets, but since that when buying the tickets they have to confirm the hotel from here first, they really need our helps.

Unfortunately, these persons they don’t want to us travel agency, yes, we can figure it out why, somebody who have their own son living in the country that they are going to, absolutely will just want their own son to handle it for them, isn’t it? And because their son is my housemate, I think it is a rude way if I just let him do all the jobs.

Honestly, for me, it seems that this job will be a very big job, because of why, because I’ve never been in Alexandaria, and really have no idea about the place. Besides, right now, all of Egyptian students are on their exams, final exams, and so do me.

And that is why im asking this question here, because I thought I can find a truly blue Alexandaria person that can help me find the way here. So, my question is, where can I find a very good hotel in Alexandaria that will only cost LE 30 pound for one a day and one night rent? And it is possible for me to find that kinds of hotel which really beside a beautiful beach? Hope, that I can have the hotel phone number and its name.

So, those are the questions. I really need to find someone that really help.

Honestly, I do have a friend in alexandaria that can really help me, but since that she is really struggling for her exams, I think it is a cruel thing to disturb her concentration, because I do feel disturbed a bit while being asked to do this favor, because it is examination time, everybody’s know that and I don’t want her to feel the same thing that I’ve felt. Besides, I feel shy to ask her for help again since she already helps me a lot before this.

Ok, that’s it. Hope that I can find someone outside there that can help me as soon as possible, because as I told just now, that they all are buying the tickets, and still waiting some confirmations from me. Ooo….Wish that I can be there and survey the hotel by myself.

And for all you guys, I believe that Allah will pay back all of your favor, either in this life or in another life, which in heaven. Amin…

You are right,it's a big responsibility.

Look you would better ask your Malaysian friends in Alexandria first.I think they are the most experienced who could handle this out ,especially the seniors ,because they used to do so for the juniors who just arrived this year .

** Also I would say don't search for hotel ,appartment would be better because with the value of "30 LE" per night ...you won't find a nice hotel especially if it's for parents ..not just guys.

** search for appartment it could be 100 LE a day "or quite less or quite more" .

** Ask your friens to get you an appartment ,if they can't let me know and I'll try to handle it out inshalla.

Don't worry you still have time ,June 31 you said? don't worry .That would be after your friends in Alex also finish their exams .

I wish you the best of luck in your plans. However, I don't think you'll find a hotel on the beach for 30 pounds. That's impossible, unless it's a typing mistake and you meant 300 pounds. Anyway, it would be cheaper if you rented an apartment instead of a hotel room. You can find very nice apartments with a view of the sea, but nothing for 30 pounds a night though. If you go to Alexandria and ask for a "simsar", you will find several who will be able to show you several apartments within the price range you specify, and you can choose whatever suits your needs. Apartments are cheaper to rent during this period of time, because of the exams. Prices soar once the summer holidays begin. A tip: while you are in Alex go to Mohamed Ahmed and try their fool and ta3miya. It's very cheap and yummy! They have a picture of the queen of Spain eating there hanging on the wall! Best wishes.

1- You're really sweet. There is something about Malysian people that makes them so loveable.

2- I am not from Alexandria.

3- Sorry for the song. Whenever I try to translate the sone, something happens. I'll do it one day. But why would you care for a song about Egypt.

4- I don't know about Alexandria. There are some people here who are from Alexandria that may help you. However, I have a good tip that may help you. Why don't you rent an apartment instead of a booking a hotel room? I think that if you try to rent an apartment for 10 days, you will like it . There are good apartments in Alexandria and they will be much better than the hotel.

What a drama!!!!!

You live in Damietta. That s not really far from Alexandria. It is not a big city, so you can plan things yourself. Search the web for hotels in Alexandria. There are many hotels, different prices. Make your choice according to your budget. You can use (alwaseet ) too to look for ads, call an rent a place. As for transport, it s very easy there. Public transport is available, taxis, car rental agencies.

Ismaily is right i too thought it was a song that is why i did not read the rest of the book,

all i can say is go get yourself to summer city in september. October the 6th nice place loads of flats to rent.

all the cairians will be there, on the beach untill umm 24/24.so you should feel at home,

loads of 4x4bikes whizzing around all night, kids haveing so much fun screaming and shouting all night.

mums and dads burrying the trash in the sand incase it fills the trash cans up and makes the area usightly.

the problem is you are asking about a cheap hotel

there are many such hotels in Alexandria

in mahatet elraml station and khalid ebn elwaled street

but if you want a cheap staying in Alexandria go and rent a furnished flat (shaka mafrosha)

but the real problem you can`t found cheap hotels and furnished flat unless you come here and ask for them

it will be easy if you found a middle-man (semsar) they are a lot in the train station in sidy gaber

about the enjoying places in alex they are alot such as:

the library of Alexandria

roman museum

green plaza mall

about beaches

the best is montaza beach

mamoura beach

if you want to enjoy your staying in alexandria go and join a tour agent

the best beaches in egypt are in marsa matrouh city
