Other than the one just to go to Sharm? We are flying to Sharm but would like to do a day drip to the pyramids. I was just told by my friend we need seperate visas to go to Cairo but that seems odd as its all Egypt. Does anyone know?
Thanks

If you just stay in the South Sinai tourist resorts for up to 14 days you can get a free of charge entry permit covering this stay. If you plan to stay for longer or to visit other parts of the country you must get a 30 day valid tourist visa at a fee of US$ 15.00; you can get it at the Sharm El Sheikh airport.
Since you're going to Cairo, yes you do need a visa, which you can get at Sharm airport upon arrival for $15 or the equivalent in GBP.
Just to clarify, there aren't two visas. If you're flying into Sharm and will only be staying within the Sinai area you don't need a visa. You can just write 'Sinai Only' on the back on your card and get a free entry stamp. To leave the Sinai (including doing a Ras Mohamed boat trip) you need a visa.
Have a great trip!

Dear Mary,
Visa Entry take to enter inside one Country border and Sharm El sheikh is Egyptian City located inside Sinai which is part of Egypt, so you will not need to take another Visa to Visit Cairo and If you would like to Do this tour I could arranged for you one day trip Pick Up from Airport if you would like to Come by Air or arranged Pick Up from your hotel at Sharm El Sheikh .to Visit Cairo and Back in safe + Local Spekaing English Guide.

I don't know if I can fully answer your question but I will give it a go.
We stayed in Sharm and went on a day trip to St Katherine's monastery - don't go, boring - and we had to take our passports so get through a boarder control. We didn't pay more money.
Last year we went to Hurghada and went on a day trip to the Pyramids. And here's my tip: we booked to fly up with Egypt Air and it cost us about £50 each for return flights. You can arrange a coach tour, but from what others said, it's absolutely exhausting. We booked the flight from the UK and arranged a guide to meet us at the airport - I found him on TripAdvisor. Our guide cost in the region of $50 for the whole day including lunch. Again I don't think we purchased a visa.
However, a quick glance around the web is that you will need a visa to leave the Sinai and travel to Cairo. But you'll be able to purchase them easily in Sharm and they aren't expensive.

If you're flyin in, that means your visa is valid for all of Egypt. To my knowledge, people only get visas that are valid to Sharm only when they come by land from like Israel or Jordan. Other than that, your visa is valid for all of Egypt. I'd ask in the Egyptian embassy in whatever country you are just to be on the safe side.
ps: If you're british, which I assume you are given the flag under the question, you don't need a visa before getting here, you get it for $15 at any of the Egyptian airports upon arrival , so you don't have any visa problems actually.
another tip : Check out the 40+ albums in the "Discover Egypt" page on Facebook, it'll give you many tips on some beautiful places in Egypt you might not know of. Enjpy your trip.

Hey,
YES you do. I have been to Egypt Twice. I can tell you definately that you do need two. The first one is for the Sinai area. (where Sharm is) and to go to Cairo you need a second one. I think you have to pay for the second one. Its £5, i think. i could be wrong about the price but im pretty sure its £5.
Oh and also, be prepared to queue for ur second visa unfortunately the queues r usually big but cairo will be worth it!!
Have a great holiday, Egypt is fab

Cairo could be the capital of Egypt and among the biggest cities in Africa and the Middle East and a good place to visit; discover more with hotelbye . On the Nile water, Cairo is fabled for a unique history, maintained in the fabulous medieval Islamic city and Coptic websites in Old Cairo. The Egyptian Museum in the middle of city is crucial see, with its numerous Old Egyptian artefacts because no trip to Cairo could be total without a trip to the Giza Pyramids, and to the regional Saqqara Pyramid Complex. In Cairo you can see: The Pyramid of Cheops (also named the Great Pyramid or Pyramid of Khufu), the greatest chart of the Giza class, and their inside of narrow passages can be explored, although there isn't much to see, except a plain tomb chamber with an empty sarcophagus. Directly behind the Great Pyramid could be the Solar Boat Museum, which displays one of many ceremonial solar barques uncovered in the region that's been painstakingly restored to their original glory. Further south on the plateau may be the Pyramid of Chephren (also called the Pyramid of Khefre), which has an inside tube place which can be entered.
